Simulation-based optimization of the polca ordering system

Given an increase in consumer demand for product quality, companies need to continually improve their means of production. The use computational resources assists choose ordering system that best suits reality. In this sense, the present study aims analyze and compare performance Paired-cell Overlapping Loops Cards with Authorization (POLCA) system, according pre-established parameters a real automobile company case, which has flow-shop production environment. order do this, research hypothetical-deductive scientific explanation. Also, quantitative approach, experimental procedure were employed due simulation optimization. computer was performed using ProModel®. initial model optimized, results two elaborated scenarios compared. It verified optimized scenario showed improvement average total output system. presented approximately 95.29% when compared scenario. Nevertheless, trade-offs verified. is noticeable analyzed axles, intermediate stocks must be increased. Finally, contributes academic community since it proposed limited number studies, mainly Brazil. also business by encouraging so better analysis systems can prior actual deployment.
